Two teams have surfaced as potential destinations for Cristiano Ronaldo now that Manchester United has canceled his contract.
The surprise transfer to Newcastle United and the Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr have the 37-year-old “split between.”
The football legend is no longer welcome at Old Trafford, according to the Red Devils’ announcement on Tuesday.
With seven months remaining on the paper, both sides unilaterally cancelled the agreement, and Ronaldo’s declaration was proof of this.
According to Marca, Ronaldo may still play in the English Premier League. Newcastle is one genuine alternative for the 37-year-old, and Al-Nassr is also a contender.
When the rumor first appeared last summer, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe had already distanced the team from the speculations about signing Ronaldo.
During the summer, Ronaldo had also turned down an enticing €350 million offer from an unknown Saudi team.
Chelsea, led by Graham Potter, is presently one of the betting favorites to land Ronaldo from Manchester United.
He is still reportedly a target for the Blues’ new owners, led by Todd Boehly, according to a weekend article in the Mirror.
