A significant worry for Sunday’s Premier League match against Manchester City is Bukayo Saka. Arsenal great Thierry Henry has urged on three players, Eddie Nketiah, Trossard, and Kai Havertz, to step up in his place.
Tuesday’s 2-1 Champions League loss to Lens for Arsenal resulted from Saka’s forced departure.
During the Champions League match in France, the England winger was substituted by Fabio Vieira.
Without Saka, Arsenal struggled to make plays until Lens sat deep in their eventually successful attempt to seal the match late in the game.
“You can lose, but it also looks like you might have lost Bukayo Saka,” Henry told CBS Sports in reference to Saka.
“Rodri wasn’t scheduled to play this past weekend, and now, unexpectedly, Arsenal’s top man—in my opinion—isn’t scheduled to play against Man City this Saturday. It appears that we are travelling farther than we actually are.
“If Bukayo isn’t playing on the weekend, it will be the responsibility of someone like Eddie Nketiah, Trossard, or Kai Havertz to demonstrate that we won’t think about him.
The only thing you can say about Bukayo is that he has been playing everything, and at some time, it will become too much and you will hit the wall.
“I have no idea what transpired this evening, but there is no doubt that he will be missed. We haven’t defeated City in the league in a very long time, so we need to find a method to do it. I’m not sure how long it will take.
