Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former Manchester United manager, has advised head coach Erik ten Hag to capitalize on the speed of Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund in the upcoming match against Liverpool.
Solskjaer believes that Liverpool’s midfield can be exploited by pulling them out of position, allowing United’s fast attackers to take advantage of the space and execute effective counter-attacks.
In anticipation of the game, Solskjaer recognized Liverpool’s high-intensity playing style but also highlighted their vulnerability when the ball is lost, especially with the absence of Roberto Firmino, the team’s former false nine.

With Bruno Fernandes anticipated to have more time on the ball, Solskjaer is confident that United can replicate their past successes against Liverpool by adopting a counter-attacking approach.
Solskjaer mentioned that facing Jurgen Klopp’s team is always challenging, but the absence of Firmino could potentially disrupt Liverpool’s front three when possession is lost, leading to opportunities to exploit the pace of Rashford, Garnacho, or Hojlund.
Additionally, Solskjaer emphasized that Fernandes having more time on the ball could force Liverpool’s defense to retreat, creating openings for United’s attacking players to capitalize on.
