Piers Morgan, a journalist, has criticized Jurgen Klopp, the departing Liverpool boss, by stating that winning only one Premier League title in eight years does not qualify him as one of the elite coaches.
Klopp will be leaving Liverpool after the final games in the Premier League this Sunday.
During his nine-year tenure in the Premier League, Klopp played a pivotal role in helping The Reds secure their first Premier League title in 30 years in the 2019-20 season.
Additionally, under Klopp’s guidance, Liverpool also clinched their sixth UEFA Champions League trophy.
Morgan’s reaction came in response to an image circulating on X, which depicted Jurgen Klopp standing in the middle of Anfield and being hailed as one of the ‘Premier League greats’.
Morgan expressed his disagreement, stating that winning just one league title in eight years does not warrant such a prestigious title.
Despite the acclaim, Klopp has made it clear that he has no intentions of returning to the Premier League in the future.
