According to MailOnline, Mason Greenwood has been informed by Manchester United that he cannot resume training before the season is over.
Since his arrest and subsequent charges of attempted rape, controlling behaviour, and assault in January 2022, the 21-year-old has not participated in any Red Devils games.
The allegations against Greenwood were, however, completely withdrawn in February 2023.
The club would “follow its own procedure before choosing next measures,” according to a United statement.
Greenwood has now spoken with club representatives and “emphasised his wish to return as soon as possible.”
Yet, it’s thought that United won’t permit the player to return to practise until at least next season.
The story asserts that opinions over Greenwood’s probable comeback are divided at Old Trafford. The commercial division is worried about the possible harm that Greenwood’s comeback might do to the club’s reputation, while some staff members think the forward should be given another shot.
