Malo Gusto, a right-back for Lyon, is allegedly close to joining Chelsea, and Blues co-owner Todd Boehly is prepared to make yet another big spending move in his second transfer window since acquiring the west London club.
Gusto is reportedly “on his way to London” until everything drastically changes, amid rival interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United.
Despite Lyon’s readiness to keep him through the remainder of the current season, the 19-year-old sensation has reportedly been offered a six-and-a-half-year contract and a significant increase in compensation. This could push him to leave the club.
Despite reports that Gusto was also being pursued by Manchester United and Newcastle, Chelsea appears to have made headway before the January deadline.
This comes after Noni Madueke was recently signed by Chelsea over the weekend.
Gusto is now valued at £13 million, although Lyon might be able to sign him for more money due to competition.
