Gabriel Jesus, a striker for Arsenal, has spoken out about his altercation with Manchester City custodian Ederson in the wake of the Gunners’ historic win against the Premier League champions last weekend.
Recall that Gabriel Martinelli’s goal in the 86th minute gave Arsenal a critical 1-0 victory over Pep Guardiola’s team at Emirates Stadium.
After the final whistle, tensions flared, resulting in an altercation between Arsenal’s set-piece coach Nicolas Jover and Kyle Walker and Erling Haaland of Man City.
Jesus, who left Man City to join Arsenal in the summer of 2022, then got into a fight with Ederson, a colleague from the same club, in stoppage time, with the custodian knocking his fellow countryman from Brazil to the ground for wasting time.

Both players were given a warning following the altercation, although Jesus downplayed it when teaming up with Ederson for Brazil’s national team’s international assignment.
I get along well with a lot of people, not only Ederson. But on the pitch, that is normal’, Jesus said in response to a question regarding his altercation with Ederson.
“However, on the pitch, I defend my team while he protects his. It was a time when we were winning and defeating them was challenging.
“I was holding the ball there while we were winning. He ultimately pushed me, but after that, everything was as it should have been. We gathered here and spoke. So that’s it.
