Brentford’s Yoane Wissa showcased his scoring prowess as he netted two goals to secure a comfortable victory over Luton, extending their lead over the relegation zone by 10 points.
In the 24th minute, Wissa brilliantly converted Bryan Mbeumo’s pass with a curling shot from the edge of the box.
Just before halftime, the forward capitalized on Luton’s defensive lapse, pouncing on a loose ball from Mbeumo’s low cross to double his tally.
Ethan Pinnock, returning to the starting lineup after a long absence, further solidified Brentford’s dominance by heading in a corner from Sergio Reguilon in the 62nd minute.

Luton appeared disheartened and struggled to find inspiration as Keane Lewis-Potter capitalized on Mbeumo’s cross, heading the ball into the net at the far post just two minutes later.
Substitute Kevin Schade completed the scoring for the visitors, leaving Luton with little hope. Despite a lackluster performance from the home side, they were presented with a late opportunity in injury time.
Luke Berry seized the chance, evading goalkeeper Mark Flekken and finishing from a tight angle.
With this victory, Brentford has surpassed Crystal Palace in the standings, securing the 14th position and establishing a comfortable 10-point lead over the relegation zone.
With only four games remaining, Brentford’s position looks secure, while Luton remains in 18th place, just one point away from safety.
