Last season, Awoniyi suffered two injuries resulting in his sidelining.

After undergoing surgery for a groin issue, the 27-year-old was further benched by an injury to their thigh.

Due to personal reasons, Awoniyi was absent for a significant portion of the pre-season.

After having made substitute appearances in Nottingham Forest’s first three games of the season, he is aiming to improve his fitness.
