Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has informed Nicolas Pepe that he will not play for him again.

According to The UK Mirror, club executives are working with the Ivorian to reach a pay-off agreement.

The 28-year-old became Arsenal’s most expensive signing when he transferred from Lille four years ago in a £72 million deal.

Despite having 112 outings and 27 goals for the Gunners, Pepe has subsequently slipped down Arteta’s priority list and spent last season on loan at Nice.

With less than a year left on his current contract, Pepe has so far been unable to find a new team this summer.

Unless his contract is terminated, he won’t be allowed to finish a move until January.

Although Turkish teams can add players until September 15, a move to the Saudi Pro League before their transfer window closes on Friday appears doubtful.
