The Lagos State General Hospital in Epe has been transferred to the federal government for transformation and comprehensive upgrading into a tertiary health facility.
The facility was handed over following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Tunji Alausa.
This agreement took place during the inaugural Lagos Trauma Conference organized by the state’s Ministry of Health on Thursday, October 3rd.

The hospital has been renamed Federal Medical Centre, Epe, replacing its previous name, Lagos State General Hospital.
This information was announced in a statement posted on the Lagos State Government’s official website on Friday, October 4.
During the handover, Sanwo-Olu reportedly stated: “The enhancement of Epe General Hospital represents a significant advancement in our ongoing efforts to improve access to quality healthcare for residents. Transforming the hospital into a Federal Medical Centre is revolutionary and will influence the future of healthcare services in Lagos.”
