Enugu Timber Market Engulfed by Fire
Several stores at the Timber Market on Kenyatta Street, Uwani, Enugu, were completely destroyed by fire on Tuesday.
It was learned that the State Fire Service’s quick action prevented the fire from spreading to other areas of the plywood market.
According to a firefighter who wished to remain anonymous, at approximately 9.45 p.m., the service received a distress call reporting that the market was on fire. Without delay, they responded by putting out the fire before it spread to other areas of the market.

As you can see, the fire in this large market barely affected roughly five stalls. Since I’m not the chief fire officer, I can’t comment much about this occurrence,” the firefighter stated.
A witness named Joe told the News Agency of Nigeria that when several nearby residents hurried to the market, the fire department arrived and put out the fire in a matter of minutes.
“It would have been disastrous if it hadn’t been for God and the fire service’s prompt response,” he claimed.
