Enugu is in mourning following the death of the former NBA Chairman, a significant loss for the community and the legal profession.
Dr Jude Ezegwui, the deceased individual in question, was formerly known to have held the position of chairman within Enugu’s branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
On Friday, a statement was issued by Enugu NBA’s chairman V.C Odo stating that Ezegwui had passed away on August 22nd, 2024.
With heavy hearts and a great sense of sorrow, it is announced that our revered former Chairman, Dr. Jude Ezegwui passed away on Wednesday 22nd August 2024.

His elder brother confirmed the devastating news of Dr. Jude Ezegwui’s passing, who was a pillar in our branch and served with great dedication as Chairman from 2020 to 2022. He had previously functioned as Legal Adviser for the Bar between 2014 and 2016.
Dr. Ezegwui had been a Council Member of the NBA – Section on Business Law until his demise. His impact in the Bar and legal profession at large cannot be quantified, and he will forever remain an inspiration to us all.
During this challenging time, we ask that all members of the Bar keep Dr. Ezegwui’s immediate and extended families in their thoughts and prayers. As more information about his burial preparations becomes available, let us offer them our sincere condolences and steadfast support.
