Enugu guber: Appeal Court’s ruling is in accordance with mandate entrusted to us by the people- Mbah
The ruling of the Court of Appeal, Lagos, which confirmed Barr Peter Mbah’s victory in the March 18, 2023, state governorship election, has been applauded by the governor of Enugu State.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, an Appeal Court in Lagos upheld Mbah’s victory.
The governor responded by saying that it was in line with the directive that the people of Enugu State had freely given him. In addition, Mbah declared that the ruling was a win for the people and that the state had changed in accordance with his agenda, promising that the people will never be let down.

He added that lies propagated to defame the administration of the people have been exposed by the ruling.
Mbah stated: “As you are aware, the Court of Appeal in Lagos dismissed an appeal that the Labour Party’s candidate for governor filed against us a few minutes ago.
“The appellate court’s decision aligns with the previous dismissal of the identical case brought before the Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
“Both rulings are in accordance with the mandate that the great people of Enugu State freely granted us during the March 18 governor’s race.” They also reinforced our faith in the courts as the last resort for the average person.
In my capacity as an attorney, allow me to add this: this ruling confirms my faith in the infallible judgement of the courts.
“Leveraging this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude to the Justices of the Court of Appeal for their unwavering support of the temple of justice.
Additionally, I would want to express my gratitude to the wonderful people of Enugu State for their resilience in the face of blatant lies spread to disparage their administration.
As a result, we would exert more effort and dedication in light of this ruling to ensure that Ndi Enugu benefits from growth.
Permit me to add that, in less than 20 days, water will stream nonstop in households in Enugu City; this is hardly a triumph for Peter Mbah as governor.
Additionally, the victory will turn Enugu State into a road construction site spanning its entire length. Another benefit of this triumph is that it would guarantee smart schools in all 260 Enugu State wards.
“Let me reassure Ndi Enugu that they won’t be disappointed. We will use every ounce of energy and fibre in our bodies to build on the progress we have already made.
“Once more, I would want to convey my sincere appreciation to the wonderful people of Ndi Enugu for their unwavering faith in us and their outstanding support. Never will we let them down. Indeed, we are in the presence of the eagerly anticipated tomorrow.
