Enugu arrests fifteen alleged online scammers

In the Enugu state capital, fifteen alleged online scammers have been apprehended by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Enugu Zonal Command.

According to a statement released by the anti-graft office on Friday, the suspects were taken into custody on Friday, October 20, 2023, after reliable information about their suspected involvement in online offences was obtained.

Among the accused are Casmir Ibebuogu Chizaram, Stanley Amobi, Okoro Ugonna Prince, Francis Mbaeri, Emegbusim Emmanuel Nnamdi, Chinedu Nworji, Nzube Michael, and Oranusi Chigozie Slyvester.

Additional names are Michael Eche, Emegbusim Chukwuka, Nlemoha Kingsley, Ejiofor Franklin, Chidera Peter, Chidiebube Chukwula Peter, and Innocent Chukwuka Peter.
Thirty cellphones, one foreign passport, and four laptops were found among the items taken from the accused.

The statement also stated, “They will be charged in court as soon as investigations are finished.”
