Pastor Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, has once more urged the disgruntled PDP members who deserted to other political parties to come back and work with him to rebuild the party.

The reintegration drive, he continued, was a part of his attempts to fortify the party at the ward level.

The governor extended the olive branch when he went to the party headquarters in Atan Offot, Uyo, on Thursday, according to a statement released by the state publicity secretary of the PDP, Borono Bassey, on Friday.

According to the statement, Eno thanked Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the party’s leadership, its members, and the Akwa Ibom people for their support of him during the election campaign, which helped him win.

The PDP state-wide ward meeting for 2023 was also announced by him. He described the ward as the strongest level of the party and said it needed to be firmly established via the deliberate efforts of the stakeholders and leaders, whom he charged with maintaining ongoing contact with party supporters.

“The party in the state needs to be strengthened. Because the ward is the strongest level of the party and needs to be firmly established by our deliberate activities, we must launch a reintegration push inside the ranks of the PDP in every ward to accomplish that.

“We’ll try our hardest to convey our gratitude. We shall express our gratitude through our policies and programs. We’ll demonstrate to the populace how appreciative we are for the chance to serve above and beyond words. We will keep working hard to make sure Akwa Ibom advances, he remarked.

Earlier, the state PDP chairman, Rt Hon (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, who delivered the party’s message, thanked the governor for getting off to a good start and for upholding the party’s values as chief executive of the state. He also assured him that the party is firmly behind him and will provide the necessary support to help him succeed.
