The peace walk is being held in memory of everyone who died on October 20, 2020, the speaker stated. That’s what we did. The police don’t want us to walk back, but we want to.
We don’t want to provide them with a justification or pretext for firing at us. We’ve been working on this for three years, so we are aware of their potential.
“I want to take use of this opportunity to demand the immediate and complete release of all detained demonstrators. Some demonstrators who have been incarcerated since 2020 are still there. Lawyers have been present in the proceedings and have continued to do so despite daily interruptions.
We are utilising this walk to renew our request to all parties involved for their unconditional release of all detained demonstrators.
