Emir Sanusi Seeks FG Mandate to Address Fulani Crisis

Emir Sanusi urges the Federal Government to grant him the mandate to mediate and find lasting solutions to the ongoing Fulani crisis. Learn more about his proposed approach.

Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano has announced his willingness to intervene in the ongoing crises involving Fulanis within the country. His aim is to offer a permanent solution to these issues.

During the receipt of leadership from Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria, a Fulani group, on Tuesday at his palace, Sanusi expressed that it is imperative for the government to discover an enduring resolution to address the ongoing crises involving Fulani in Nigeria.

“The attainment of my objective hinges upon the unwavering support of the Federal Government, given their resources and capabilities that complement my innovative strategies. I shall furnish input on approaches to harness these resources efficiently.”

Undeniably, the Fulani population in Nigeria has endured severe instances of assault, exclusion, murder, and devastation. Furthermore, their cattle have also been stolen frequently and these rejections have pervaded throughout the nation. Thus necessitating action to put a halt to this situation.

Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that there exist certain Fulani individuals who have tarnished the reputation of their group by engendering the current predicaments experienced by many.

The government will collaborate with us to establish a lasting resolution for the crises. This pertains particularly to conflicts between them and farmers, as well as suspicions of additional criminal activity.

“As an individual, I am prepared to assist the government in attaining its goal of establishing peace and prosperity amongst Fulanis as well as other Nigerians. It is imperative for their suffering to end, and I firmly believe that together we can accomplish this.”

Madibo Jada, the leader of the Fulani group, spoke and confirmed that they were present at the palace to express their loyalty to Emir for his second term as their leader. He mentioned that Emir was appointed long ago by Lamido of Adamawa.

“Our organization’s members are predominantly situated in the bushes. Even if I specifically requested only our youth wing to convene here today, this palace would prove insufficient for hosting us all. Our membership spans across each of Nigeria’s 36 states,” stated Jada.

According to him, their faith in Emir Sanusi’s abilities was rooted in his potential to restore their tarnished reputation and accurately portray the extent of their socio-economic contributions towards national progress.
