Elton John announces retirement from touring

The renowned British vocalist Elton John has announced that he is retiring from performing.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 77-year-old declared that he will never go on tour again.

Last July, he played his last gig in Stockholm, Sweden.

“When I got in the car after Glastonbury for the final show on the farewell tour in Stockholm, I was like, ‘Yes! yes!’” We ended on the highest note, exactly how I had hoped, and there’s no turning back now,” he remarked.

Before Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour broke the record, Elton John’s farewell tour, which concluded early last year and earned $939 million (£749 million) across 328 gigs, was the highest-grossing music tour in history.

$1 billion in income from Era’s tour broke Elton John’s record.
