The spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, informed our correspondent that Dare was contacted to replace a malfunctioning wire on the pole.
Odutola attested to Dare’s electrocution death during the cable replacement procedure.
She stated that the command would look into the event, particularly to determine whether the task he was asked to perform was exclusive to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company’s (IBEDC) trained staff.
Dare, the electrician, was called in to replace a malfunctioning cable, and he passed away in the process.
According to Odutola, “The Police are looking into whether the work he was hired to complete was for IBEDC only, as they have more equipment to prevent electrocution than regular electricians.”
