Elections in 2023: Zulum assures voters that Borno is 90% secure

Before, during, and after the general elections in less than 50 days, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has said that the state is 90% safe and secure.

Zulum gave the guarantee after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in his office on Friday.

The governor told State House Correspondents that people who didn’t want to pick up their permanent voter cards (PVCs) because they were afraid should remember that Borno State residents voted in elections in 2015 and 2019 despite even worse security conditions.

He claims that since then, there has been an “amazing” improvement of over 90% in the situation, and eligible voters can now get ready to cast their ballots on Election Day.

This promise comes a few weeks after the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign train was attacked in Maiduguri, the state capital, on November 20, 2022.
