Election officials and supplies are delayed for the Edo LG elections
At the various polling places, it was seen that the early-arriving prospective voters waited patiently for voting to start.
The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) had scheduled voting in the local government elections for Edo State to begin on Saturday.
Even though the election was scheduled to start at 8:30 am, Channels Television saw that it started late in a number of polling places, including those in the local government areas (LGAs) of Oredo, Ikpoba Okha, and Egor.
At the various polling places, it was seen that the early-arriving prospective voters waited patiently for voting to start.
Voting started in Unit 7 Ward 4, Egor LGA, at around 10:30 a.m.
As of 12:00 pm, non-sensitive election materials were still being sorted and sent from Ward 2 Oredo LGA Collation Centre to units in the riverine districts, according to a party agent for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
