Nigerian beauty queen Esther Gabriel has urged voters to choose leaders who have a track record of being able to improve the nation’s fortunes as they head to the polls on Saturday.

The Nigerian representative at the 2021 Miss Globe World final claimed the nation had been neglected by previous presidents in a post uploaded on her Instagram page.

She also pushed for reform and quick action to choose leaders with vision and commitment.

“In the past, we have allowed sentimentalism, religious extremism, blind allegiance, tribalism, and selfishness to usurp our democratic rights and authority. denying ourselves the freedom, security, job, and other opportunities we should have as citizens.

“We destroyed our country, rendered it uninhabitable for us, and then fled to locations we believed to be safer and better than our own.

“As a nation, Nigeria has all it needs to excel. Nigeria is equipped to provide its people with all they need to live. Sadly, though, her people kept denying themselves that opportunity and right by their political choices and actions.

“Today, here is another chance for us to correct our wrongs and make wise and impartial decisions.”

She issued a warning, saying, “Now is the time as Nigerians to make the option to either liberate ourselves from the shackles or continue to live in bondage,” since she was worried about the propensity of the few who might be interested to vote along ethnic and religious lines.
