Election in 2023 will mirror the circumstances of the 1993 Presidential Election – Gov. Ganduje

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has said again that the state will do the same thing it did in the 1993 Presidential Election, when it voted against its own son, the late Bashir Tofa, and for MKO Abiola instead.

“That demonstrated the political sophistication and skill of Kano residents.” “We all believed in national integration and competence, which is why we supported Chief MKO Abiola of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and opposed Bashir Othman Tofa of the National Republican Convention (NRC),” he claimed.

After holding a rally and meeting with people in Rano and Bunkure and spending the night in Rano, the capital of the Rano Emirate, with his group, he went to see Sunusi Abubakar Ila, the district head of Kibiya, and said this while on a campaign tour with APC candidates running for different positions in the upcoming general elections.

“Tinubu was an instrument in getting Atiku Abubakar to become the presidential candidate of the Action Congress, AC,” he said. This is to remind Nigerians that the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has helped northerners win the presidency many times. Additionally, he gave Nuhu Ribadu another platform to run for president on behalf of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

He continued: “Asiwaju Tinubu worked very hard to maintain the equation. The rotational logic states that power rotates from north to south and vice versa. As a result, he previously supported northern presidential candidates.Another positive development is due. We can only now support his candidature at this point.

Governor Ganduje emphasised that the North is supporting Tinubu because, among other things, he (Tinubu) firmly believes in nation-building, has an extensive pedigree, and firmly believes in human and national development. Tinubu is the only deserving and most competent presidential candidate in the upcoming election.

He introduced all other candidates running for governor and deputy governor, as well as seats in the House of Representatives, the Kano State House of Assembly, and the Senate.

Ganduje added, “I’m telling everyone about our most qualified and deserving candidates, who are better than all the other candidates from all the other opposition parties.”
