The suspended Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, will be informed of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC’s) final decision, the INEC has announced intentions to inform Nigerians.
When he declared Aisha Binani the winner of the April rerun election for Adamawa governor without waiting for the results, suspended REC Yunusa-Ari stirred up outrage across the nation.
The INEC headquarters instantly ruled his action void, and he was subsequently taken into custody by the police.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) incumbent governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, was subsequently pronounced the election’s legitimate victor by the Commission.
In an interview with Channels Television Politics Today on Thursday, Festus Okoye, the INEC spokesman, stated the police have finished their inquiries into the situation.
When asked if a decision had been made, Okoye responded that the Commission will soon inform Nigerians of its stance.
He declared, “The Commission will act shortly in the matter of its REC in Adamawa State who has been suspended, Hudu Yunusa-Ari.
Okoye responded, “Yes,” when asked if INEC had enough evidence to make a case against Yunusa-Ari.
