Election for governor: Governor Sule issues warning about potential religious crisis in Nasarawa
Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has issued a warning that his administration will not tolerate a religious crisis in the state with less than a week till the governorship and house of assembly elections.
The retired judge Sidi Bage-Mohammed and the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Emir of Lafia, and the chairman of the state’s traditional council met with Sule on Saturday in Lafia.
Before of the March 11 elections, he claimed that the conference was necessary due to the risky religious component of current politics.

“Nasarawa State has long been regarded as a peaceful place, and there are Muslims and Christians in almost every family,” Sule remarked. The government cannot therefore permit a religious crisis in the state.
“Everyone will be on the run if the state isn’t peaceful, so even those motivating individuals won’t have time to transmit those messages,” the author writes.
Moreover, he said, “Power comes from God, and He grants it to whomever He wants at any time. As politicians, we should just offer ourselves to the people.”
According to Obasanjonews24, Nasarawa experienced calm during last weekend’s elections for the National Assembly and the recent Presidential election.
