Election: Dele Momodu of the PDP responds to Utomi of the LP over remarks against Tinubu
Professor Pat Utomi, the convener of BIG-TENT, a coalition of political parties, social movements, and civil society organisations, has been criticised by Dele Momodu, a spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign council, for his recent remarks on the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Insisting that Tinubu is “not physically and mentally fit to run Nigeria,” Utomi had stated this on Thursday morning.
He made the statements while taking questions for the Morning Show show on Arise Television.
But when prompted by the same media to respond to Utomi’s remarks against Tinubu, Momodu said the professor’s remarks made no sense.
Momodu acknowledged that he is neither a physician nor a psychiatrist, and that Nigerians should be the ones to make the determination on Tinubu’s mental capability.

The seasoned journalist stated, “I am not a psychiatrist or a medical professional, so I cannot comment on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mental competence or capability. Also, in the spirit of the peace pact, I am not meant to have any ill words for anyone today.
“I want to be regarded as one of the few individuals that managed a professional campaign, so let Nigerians decide whether they believe Tinubu is intellectually and physically competent.
“I don’t want someone to claim that Dele Momodu is the one who said this or that. Nigerians are sighted. Nigerians possess ears. They are aware of how irrational and disrespectful these APC figures have been about their own president.
“I witnessed my older brother Adams Oshiomole cursing at Buhari from atop a car in Edo State. I had never seen anything like this Fuji house of turmoil in politics, where people who used to worship the president are now in rebellion against him because they know he is about to leave office.
So even though I’m not a medical professional, what they’re doing to him doesn’t make sense.
