El-Rufai’s Son Addresses EFCC Raid Claims on Kaduna Residence
Bashir El-Rufai clarifies reports of an EFCC raid on his family’s Kaduna residence, dismissing the allegations as misinformation and urging the public to verify facts.
Bello, the eldest son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has denied rumors that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided his home in Kaduna and discovered money in various currencies.
Rumors circulated that the EFCC uncovered $800 million in cash, N700 billion in cash, and drugs valued at N1 trillion at his residence in Kaduna.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Bello called the allegations “false” and described them as a deliberate attempt to divert attention from his public service efforts.
He also stated that he owns a house in Kaduna and clarified that their family home is located in Unguwar Sarki.
In Bello’s statement, he expressed: “The people I represent understand what could transpire if I were fortunate enough to have such numbers.”
To those behind these misguided attacks, be assured that we will remain dedicated to serving the people. We take pleasure in how this may irritate our critics; enhancing quality and candid representation is here to stay in Kaduna North.
The manipulation of public perception through fake news and the attempt to associate him with illicit activities via unfounded allegations was both defamatory and an affront to justice and fairness.
