On Monday, former President Muhammadu Buhari received a courtesy call from Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, at his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
Muyiwa Adekeye, the former governor’s special adviser on media and communication, posted pictures from the trip on his X account on Monday.
Adekeye claims that Elrufai’s meeting with Buhari is the first since their respective departures from office on May 29, 2023. The former governor travelled to Daura with a few of his former assistants, including Hafiz Bayero, the former administrator of the Kaduna Capital Development Authority, and Jimi Lawal, the former honorary adviser.
After eight years in government, Buhari and El-Rufai, both members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), resigned in May of this year.
