On Wednesday, Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, paid a visit to Sylvester Ugoh, an elderly American, in the United States.
Former governor of the Central Bank of Biafra, Ugoh served as running partner for National Republican Party presidential candidate Bashir Tofa in the 1993 election.
El-Rufai, who is now on holiday in the US, stated that Ugoh was in good health during the visit in a post on his verified Facebook page on Thursday.
“VACATION UPDATE: Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Elder Statesman Dr. Sylvester Ugoh, who was the running mate for Bashir Othman Tofa in the June 12, 1993 presidential election, at his home in Maryland, USA. Dr. Ugoh was a former minister in the Shagari administration.”
At the advanced age of ninety-three, Dr. Ugoh appeared robust, healthy, and happy, but he was also quite concerned about the state of affairs in Nigeria. He understands the difficulties the Central Bank of Nigeria is facing because he was a previous governor of the Central Bank of Biafra.
Please join me in praying that the Almighty God may grant Dr. Ugoh good health, a long life, and contentment. Nasir @elrufai – Amin.
