El-Rufai is an Asset, But He Has Weaknesses to Address – SDP Chieftain

Adewole Adebayo, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has praised Nasir El-Rufai, the party’s newest member, as a valuable asset with a strong history of outstanding public service.

The SDP leader expressed this during The Morning Brief breakfast program on Channels Television on Tuesday, praising his intellectual insight.

Adebayo, however, mentioned that the two-term governor of Kaduna State and former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has certain weaknesses to address.

“The problem is that I view him as a valuable asset, recognizing his strong work ethic and established track record of public performance,” stated the SDP leader.

In my view, he has certain weaknesses that require attention; however, I am not his mentor or therapist.

What I understand is that Nigerians have a broad perspective on El-Rufai. They will take into account some of his comments and various other aspects, but overall, they are likely to regard him as an excellent public servant.

Remember that El-Rufai, a prominent political figure from the north and a staunch supporter of Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, announced on Monday his switch from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to an opposition party, the SDP.

The ex-governor of Kaduna expressed that the APC has deviated from the aspirations and vision envisioned by its founders. El-Rufai played a role in merging parties to establish the APC in 2013.
