El-Kanemi Warriors emerge victorious in Nigerian Federation Cup for the third time

El-Kanemi Warriors defeated Abia Warriors 2-0 in the President Federation Cup final, led by a brace by Nasiru Salisu.

In the competition’s history, El-Kanemi Warriors had won three titles.

Salisu gave the Maiduguri team the lead two minutes after the half-hour mark, after having his penalty saved in the ninth minute.

Fifteen minutes remaining, he doubled the lead.

The side led by Aliyu Zubairu outperformed the Abia Warriors, who are participating in the competition final for the first time.

As part of their prize for winning the competition, El-Kanemi will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup the following season.
