The head teacher of Saint Philips CAC Nursery and Primary School in Erio-Ekiti, Adeniyi Ayodele, has been sanctioned by the state government of Ekiti for collecting unlawful charges.
This was revealed in a statement made in Ado Ekiti, the state capital of Ekiti, by Prof. Femi Akinwumi, the executive chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Akinwumi stated that once Ayodele admitted to committing the offence brought against him, he was removed from his position for a period of two months.
He said that the suspended teacher’s actions went against the state’s policy of free and compulsory education, which is overseen by Governor Biodun

He disclosed the proof that demonstrated Ayodele was taking N25,000 from every primary six student and another N8,000 from every primary four student.
According to Akinwumi, the penalty was required to act as a warning to other Head Teachers in public elementary schools who have a habit of disobeying government regulations.
He gave the head teacher instructions to turn the case over to the senior assistant head teacher, who should have been reporting to the SUBEB headquarters while it was being investigated further.
