The young man, Dipo Femi, found himself facing a High Court in Ekiti State, presided over by Justice Blessing Ajileye, on the 19th of July, 2022.
The charges brought against him were serious, including conspiracy, burglary, and theft, as outlined in the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
The incident in question took place on the 14th of March, 2022, at Oke Ureje, Polytechnic Road, Ado Ekiti, where Dipo Femi and his accomplices, who are currently on the run, broke into the shops of Victor Mark, Clement Moses, and Samuel Lucky.
The stolen items, which included clothing, jewelry, cash, perfumes, and more, were valued at N2.1 million.

Upon receiving the distressing news of the burglary, one of the victims quickly alerted the authorities and managed to apprehend Dipo Femi with some of the stolen goods.
The thief confessed that there were four individuals involved in the crime, but three had already escaped with the majority of the stolen items.
The case was diligently prosecuted by Kunle-Shina Adeyemo, who presented four witnesses and the defendant’s statements as evidence.
Justice Blessing Ajileye, in delivering the verdict, found Dipo Femi guilty on multiple counts and sentenced him to a total of 27 years in prison, with the terms to run concurrently from the date of his arrest.
