Eight online scammers were detained in Abuja

In Abuja on Thursday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained eight alleged online scammers.

The accused were taken into custody in the neighbouring Nasarawa State towns of Kubwa and Mararaba.

David Oche Igoche, Innocent Adikwu, Anderson Oshiomegie Edemode, and Chinonso P. Peter were named as the individuals.

Others include Desmond Esosa, Emmanuel Smart, Favour Anucha, and Adegbayi Tunde.

The anti-graft organisation added that they were detained as a result of the Commission receiving actionable intelligence.

Two computers, two internet-linking devices, and more than five mobile phones were found on them.

The Commission further stated that the suspects will be brought up in court as soon as the investigations were finished.
