Eight alleged bandits are killed by police in gunfight in Benue

According to reliable sources, a militia gang entered Akpuna village in the Ukum LGA of Benue State today, 8/7/2023, at around 12 p.m. and began firing randomly.

After a militia group stormed Akpuna village in the state’s Ukum Local Government Area (LGA), the Benue State Police Command executed eight suspected bandits on Saturday.

According to reliable sources, a militia gang entered Akpuna village in the Ukum LGA of Benue State today, 8/7/2023, at around 12 p.m. and began firing randomly.

In response to this information, police units and other security agencies sped to the location and engaged the robbers, who were ultimately driven from the region, the police source added.

According to additional information, “8 corpses were found at the scene, and numerous other injured people were taken to a hospital for treatment.” In the area, operations are still ongoing.
