The Ministry of Interior’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, released a statement on Tuesday confirming this decision.

Initially, the government had declared Tuesday and Wednesday as the official holidays for the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr. However, due to the inability to sight the crescent moon on Monday, the holidays were extended.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia and the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, had already declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid el-Fitr, as the crescent moon was not sighted.
This decision to extend the holidays demonstrates the government’s commitment to accommodating the religious observances of the Muslim community and ensuring that they have ample time to celebrate this significant occasion.
