Egypt’s Foreign Minister Urges Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza Strip

Egypt’s Foreign Minister has called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for a swift end to the ongoing conflict.

On Friday, the foreign minister of Egypt stated that a prompt cessation of hostilities in Gaza is imperative to prevent an escalation which may lead to a broader conflict.

As officials from Egypt, Qatar, Israel and the U.S. met in Doha to resolve the Gaza conflict, Badr Abdelaty made comments while he was in Beirut.

The killing of a prominent military figure from the Hezbollah group in Beirut and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran has caused an escalation of tension throughout the Middle East.

Israel has been accused by Iran and Hezbollah of being responsible for Haniyeh’s death, resulting in their commitment to seek revenge.

Abdelaty emphasized the urgent need for a cease-fire to halt the escalation in Gaza Strip.

After his meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, a significant ally of Hezbollah, Abdelaty spoke at a press conference.

Once Israel concludes its offensive in Gaza, Hezbollah and their regional allies – primarily the Houthi rebels in Yemen – have declared that they will cease attacking it.

On Friday, the second day of negotiations for a mediated cease-fire in Qatar will take place at an international level. These talks aim to prevent the escalation of Gaza’s war into a broader regional confrontation.
