Eguma relies on home support to defeat Etoile Filante in the CAF Confederation Cup
Stanley Eguma, the head coach of Rivers United, has stated that his squad will depend on crowd support when playing Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante.
In the opening leg of the CAF Confederation Cup, the Pride of Rivers held the Burkinabes to a scoreless draw at the Stade Municipal Stadium in Yamoussoukro.
Eguma said that the squad needs to be shaken out of its comfort zone by the fans.
He gave the assurance that the coaching staff would address the issues found prior to the return leg.
Egunma told the club’s reporters, “It’s a football game; the supporters are very crucial; we need them.
“We need the supporters now more than ever to shake the players out of their complacency and help us get the result we need.
In order to achieve the necessary results and please the supporters, the team must rise to the challenge.
