EFCC Raids Radio Station, Arrests Presenter During Live Broadcast
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided a radio station, arresting a presenter during a live programme in a dramatic crackdown linked to ongoing investigations.
On Monday evening, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives carried out a raid at Urban Radio 94.5FM in Enugu, arresting a presenter during a live broadcast.
The station issued a statement on Tuesday, apologizing to listeners for the interruption in its programming.
The raid occurred at around 6:45 p.m. during the live broadcast of the “Prime Time” show.
Urban Radio reported that EFCC operatives detained presenters and confiscated communication equipment without offering any specific explanations for their actions.

Men claiming to be with the EFCC stormed into the studio during a live broadcast of “Prime-Time,” forcefully taking our presenters and seizing our communication equipment, without providing any explanation.

Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson, defended the anti-corruption agency’s actions by stating that they were at the station to arrest presenter Favour Ekoh due to his alleged involvement in a ponzi scheme that defrauded 103 Nigerians.
According to the EFCC spokesperson, only Ekoh was apprehended and no communication equipment was seized by the operatives.
He stated that agency operatives followed the presenter to the station after she ignored multiple invitations.
