In a crackdown on internet fraud, the EFCC apprehends 15 suspected Yahoo boys in Benin, intensifying efforts to reduce cybercrime in Nigeria.

On Monday, operatives from the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested fifteen individuals suspected of internet fraud in Benin City.

The Commission stated that the suspects were apprehended based on actionable intelligence regarding their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud.

The EFCC revealed this information in a statement posted on its X page on Wednesday.

The recovered items from the suspects comprise four luxury cars, as well as laptops and phones.

The anti-corruption agency stated that the suspects will face charges in court once the investigations are finalized.
