EFCC and Cubana Chief Priest to Settle Alleged Naira Abuse Out of Court

The EFCC and Cubana Chief Priest have reached an agreement to settle the accusation of naira abuse outside of the court, as announced during the proceedings’ restart on Thursday.

Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari represented the prosecution, and Mr. Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN) appeared for the defendant during the reopening of the proceedings.

The defense counsel informed the court about the parties’ intention to settle and requested that the matter be resolved in accordance with section 14(2) of the EFCC Act.

Cubana Chief Priest was granted N10m bail with two sureties in like sum by the Federal High Court in Lagos State on Wednesday, April 17.

He faced three counts related to the abuse of naira, spraying, and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social event, as per the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The socialite was accused of spraying the naira at Eko Hotel on February 13, 2024, and committing the offenses while dancing during the social event.
