Mr. Uduak Nanga, also known as Mc Calculus, recently completed a remarkable 150-hour non-stop mathematics lesson, setting a new Guinness World Record.

Hailing from Ikono Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, Nanga finished the challenge at Kings Kid Christian International High School in Uyo. In a conversation with a correspondent, he expressed his strong desire to reignite a love for mathematics among the younger generation.

He credited his mother, Mrs. Rose Edet Nanga, for instilling in him a passion for mathematics by diligently reviewing his math notes since his early education days.
Despite facing technical difficulties that caused him to lose the first 10 hours of his world record attempt, Nanga remained undeterred. He firmly believes that mathematics, as a subject, is fundamentally about providing solutions to life’s intricate problems.
For Nanga, achieving this Guinness World Record was a dream realized. His ultimate goal was to showcase globally that mathematics is not only essential but also enjoyable. By demonstrating the practical applications of mathematics in everyday life, he aimed to inspire individuals of all ages to embrace the subject.
He emphasized that beyond its academic utility, mathematics plays a crucial role in time management, planning, and problem-solving. Nanga firmly believes that any challenge in life that requires a solution can be approached through the lens of mathematics.
