Edo Native Doctor’s Bulletproof Charm Test Ends in Tragedy

A tragic incident occurred in Edo as a native doctor’s test of a bulletproof charm resulted in the death of a client.

According to the Edo State Police Command, a 19-year-old who proclaimed himself as a native doctor has been apprehended in connection with his customer’s demise.

In an attempt to demonstrate the effectiveness of a charm he had created for protection against gunshot and cutlass wounds, the indigenous healer specializing in such remedies inadvertently caused his client’s death.

On August 20, an incident took place in Onumu Community located in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

According to SP Moses Yamu, the spokesman for the State Police Command, Alex Ezekiel asked the suspect for a bulletproof charm as revealed in Monday’s official statement.

Alex Ezekiel, who is now deceased, sought the services of a “native doctor” in order to have charms crafted for him.

Once the charms were prepared, the native doctor attempted to gauge their effectiveness by using a firearm on the deceased.

The statement conveyed that despite efforts to save the victim, he succumbed to his injuries and was rapidly transported to Ifejola Hospital in Igarra. A medical professional confirmed his passing shortly after.

According to Yamu, the suspect will be prosecuted once the investigation is completed.
