The crisis within the Edo State chapter of Labour Party escalated on Thursday as Ken Omusi, the state Youth Leader, ousted the Kelly Ogbaloi-led State Working Committee.
According to reports from Obasanjonews.com, Omusi, along with Stanley Orobosa and another individual, proclaimed themselves as the new leaders of the party in the state.
Omusi declared himself Acting Chairman and appointed Stanley Orobosa as Secretary, forming a three-man interim executive for the LP in Edo.
He cited the need for a change in leadership due to the oppressive and authoritarian style of the ‘sacked’ state executive, accusing them of suspending over 350 party members without following the party Constitution.
Omusi criticized the state leadership for their actions during a crucial election period, highlighting the unprecedented nature of the situation within the party in Edo State.
