Adams Oshiomhole claims that Governor Obaseki’s actions led to Philip Shaibu’s defection to the APC ahead of the Edo governorship elections, stirring political tension in the state.
On Saturday, Adams Oshiomhole, the Senator representing Edo North announced that Philip Shaibu, the troubled Deputy Governor of the state has defected to APC (All Progressives Congress).
According to Oshiomhole, Shaibu’s decision to join the APC was a result of his dissatisfaction with Governor Godwin Obaseki.
During the closure of All Progressives Congress, APC’s gubernatorial campaign, the senator delivered a speech at UNIBEN.
He alleged that Obaseki had misappropriated funds and resources allocated by the Federal Government for developmental projects in the state, channeling them into his personal coffers instead.
The upcoming Edo State election on September 21st will determine the next governor as decided by its citizens.
