Edo government reacts to Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu’s appointments of new aides after his reinstatement. Discover the details and implications.

Kingsley Ehigiamusor and Musa Ebomhiana have been reinstated as the Chief of Staff and Chief Press Secretary respectively.

Furthermore, Senior Special Assistant titles have been granted to Emmanuel Akhaba, Charles Olubayo, Mustapha Lawal-Omokpe and Matthias Akhanemhe. Meanwhile, Obinson Akhenoba and Robert Ojele will take on the role of Special Assistants. These appointments are now in immediate effect.

The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, rejected these appointments as being “false.”

According to Nehikhare, the government acknowledged the presence of unverified declarations about these designations on social media, which he described as bogus. He pointed fingers at Philip Shaibu, who had been ousted from his position of Deputy Governor and alleged that he was endeavoring to stir up turmoil in the state.

Nehikhare affirmed the government’s dedication to upholding order and stressed that Omobayo Marvellous Godwins is still rightfully serving as Deputy Governor of Edo State.

He advised the public to dismiss any untrue claims and carry on with their regular routines without worry.
