This update follows the originally scheduled, postponed September 9th restart date.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ojo Akin-Longe, addressed circulating bogus notices regarding a new restart date in a statement released in Benin on Sunday.
He issued a warning to parents and guardians, telling them to ignore any false information claiming that schools would reopen earlier than planned.

We are aware of a later, fraudulent notification that claimed classes would resume on Monday, September 23, 2024.
