The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Peter Obi for consistently complaining about election results, claiming he never accepts the outcomes. Explore the context of these remarks in light of the recent Edo election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has characterized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for 2023, as a habitual complainer.

Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, asserted that Obi is unlikely to accept the outcomes of any election that does not favor him or his chosen candidates.

In an interview with Arise TV, Morka emphasized that Obi’s views regarding the Edo State governorship election hold no significance.

Morka stated, “Peter Obi is a habitual complainer who refuses to acknowledge the results of any election that does not align with his interests or those of his preferred candidates.

“Since the 2023 election, Obi has consistently denied the legitimacy of that election. He has now taken on a new endeavor, which is to contest the Edo State election results.

“His opinions on the Edo election are entirely inconsequential.

“I believe that Akpata and Ighodalo have a valid stake in that election, and if they are dissatisfied, they should pursue legal action to substantiate the claims they are currently making. They are disseminating unverified allegations.

“I have yet to hear any of them present conclusive evidence to support their grandiose claims. In a court of law, it is not about sensational headlines; one must provide concrete evidence to substantiate their case for winning the elections.”

In the recent election, LP’s governorship candidate, Olumide Akpata, received 22,763 votes, while Monday Okpebholo of the APC won with 291,667 votes, and Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 247,274 votes.
