Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State, claims that God has given him the desire to run for the state’s upcoming governorship.

Shaibu claimed to have spoken with God and received a clear command to run for governor.

He made his remarks on Tuesday when appearing on the Sunrise Daily show on Channels Television.

“We fight for our rights because we are confident in our Edo heritage and believe that no one can stop us.”

Thus, when I declared that no human being could stop me, I meant that since I believe in God, the only one with the authority to decree that something cannot occur.

People cannot claim that something cannot happen because, if God grants us authority, it is for certain causes.

“I have prayed to the same God who bestows authority, and He has urged me to proceed. He uttered, “No man can stop me since I know that God is with me and I don’t do things by my strength.”

According to Obasanjo News24, the deputy governor formally declared on Monday that he would run for Edo State governor in 2024 on the Peoples Democratic Party’s platform (PDP).
